Job description

As Operations Director, you have a crucial role in future-proofing the Sidem organization. You ensure that the operations of production, warehouses and logistics are prepared to support the anticipated growth of the company. You ensure that all operational flows run efficiently, including the supply chain and logistics. You do this by focusing on digitization and automation on the one hand, and by optimizing processes and reducing waste on the other.
You are part of the management team and report to the CEO.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You develop a long-term vision in which the necessary future-oriented steps are addressed in order to meet the challenges concerning the increase in labor costs and the targeted growth in turnover. You then ensure that this vision is realized by getting employees on board with the change story, without losing sight of day-to-day priorities.
You are responsible for the distribution center in Belgium, where 25 FTEs are active. Here you optimize the stock policy in consultation with sales and purchasing. You act as the bridge between operations and procurement, with a view to stock optimization. Your initiatives in this context are based on data that you analyze and process yourself. The data is provided by the newly implemented WMS .
You are responsible for the production site in Romania. You are responsible for improving the efficiency of the production process, involving 270 FTEs. You call on your experience with Lean Six Sigma.
You manage the quality and engineering team consisting of 3 FTEs.
You make business cases in the context of CAPEX exercises around potential investments that fit within the strategy of the company and can clearly communicate this to the other management members.

Profile

You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering Science or possess similar knowledge through experience in Operations.
You already built up 10 years of relevant experience within a similar function.
You have a thorough knowledge of Lean and have worked with it in the past.
You are data-driven and use data to inform decisions.
You are a strategist who can help build a long-term vision and translate it into concrete action plans, investments and targeted steps.
You are a change manager who can convince people of the importance of change and involve them in your story.
You are willing to travel (30%) for work and stay at the location in question for a limited period of time.
