HYDRAULIC CORE ADAPTED TO FULL RUBBER PREVENTS EARLY SILENT BLOCK FAILURE.
Silent blocks are vital for the driving comfort and wheel alignment. They allow track control arm movements while absorbing vibrations, noises and impacts during driving.
As these rubber bushes torque frequently and age over the years, they are naturally subject to wear over time. Some OE-designs are more prone to wear and early failure. That’s where Sidem steps in for a durable alternative!
PROBLEM: EARLY RUPTURES IN THE HYDRAULIC CORE.
Workshop feedback taught us there were issues with certain silent blocks. The rubber core was tearing in a very early stage at the location of the hydraulic chambers.

The affected silent blocks are applied in both electric and larger vehicles. Both types are rather heavy resulting in larger forces these silent blocks need to cope with.
You can see on the cut-outs below that the rubber on the outside of the hydraulic chamber is thinner then with common silent blocks. As this is the most fragile part of hydraulic silent blocks, it’s the evident location of the issue.

SIDEM’S SOLUTION: AN IMPROVED OUTER BUSH DESIGN.
Although hydraulic silent blocks have the benefit of dampening out even the smallest noises and vibrations, Sidem had to step in.
Our Quality and R&D department decided to change the hydro-rubber core to a full rubber version. By selecting the optimal rubber shore hardness and balancing the axial and radial stiffness of the silent blocks, we tried to stay as close as possible to the OE characteristics.

This solution seriously increases the strength and durability of these silent blocks without compromising comfort and road behavior.
SUMMARY.
In short: we kept your ride comfortable and safe while reducing service costs and efforts. A new, well-thought-out, full rubber core design guarantees reliability, comfort and durability.
