Spacer

  • Axial joints are delivered with spacer to prevent metal-to-metal impact (when applicable OE-design)

Axial joints in car suspension systems primarily fail due to the failure of the steering rack gaiter, which is designed to protect the joint from external contaminants. When the gaiter is damaged or worn out it allows dirt, water and debris to infiltrate the axial joint. This contamination leads to corrosion and accelerated wear, causing the joint to develop play which comprimizes the control of your car.

As the joint wears, will result in reduced steering precision, increased noise, and eventually, complete failure of the component. Regular inspection and maintenance of the steering rack gaiter, along with using durable materials for the axial joints, are essential to prevent such failures and ensure the longevity of the steering system.

Klüber visual 2024

Lifetime lubricating grease.

Ball joint lubrication is important to prevent the part from drying out, corroding and wearing. The grease used in Sidem parts is coengineered with Klüber Lubrication and assures a much longer life time due to a smoother movement and protection against water infiltration. Sidem always engineers its parts with in mind the longest possible lifespan, maximum safety, comfort and an easy installation.
