  • Correct flange nut diameter according OE-standard

Top & bottom springs

  • Flattened spring steel
  • No deformation, diameter is maintained
  • Excellent sealing pressure

Dustcover grooves

  • Increases sealing pressure on the ball stud
  • Allows grease between the grooves for lubrification
  • Prevent water infiltration

Dustcover

  • Chloroprene rubber
  • Anti-torsion design
  • Maximum resistance to chemical substances
  • Best sealing from moist and dust
  • Extreme resistance to wear and extreme temperatures
  • Strong resistance to ozone and all-weather circumstances

Ball stud

  • Cold forged chromium steel
  • Extremely rust resistant
  • Rolled ball for extra surface strength and smooth finish
  • Low friction results in increased lifespan
  • Maximum strength
  • Rolled thread; stronger than cutting thread

Dustcover seat

  • Prevents the dustcover from collapsing/damage

Lifetime lubricant grease

  • Co-engineered with Klüber
  • Reduces friction
  • Prevents drying and wearing out
  • Better adhesion
  • Water repellant
  • Increased lifespan

Housing finishing

  • All sharp edges are removed
  • Round edges prevent damage to the dustcover

Insert

  • Constrains the ball-pin movement
  • In polyoxymethylene
  • Resistant to high impact and temperatures
  • Low wear

Backplate

  • Closes the ball joint
  • Locks the insert in position

Water infiltration into the ball joint is the main reason for failure. Once the water finds its way in, there’s no stopping corrosion. To prevent this, we use durable raw materials: e.g. cold-forged, polished chromium steel for the ball pin. This material provides increased strength and rust resistance. The dust cover, which shields the ball pin and housing, should be securely sealed to the ball-pin and housing. To ensure a fixed lock on the housing while still allowing smooth movement between pin and the dustcover top, spring steel locking rings with the correct diameters are used. The dust cover is designed with grooves on the inside, increasing sealing pressure and allowing lubrication, this prevents water from to prevent water from seeping in between. Another important reason for failure is the use of low-quality lubrication. Therefore, the use of high-quality lubricant is crucial as it places a protective film on all vulnerable surfaces. It retains its composition and features which prevent drying out, eroding and eventually failing.

Lifetime lubricating grease.

Ball joint lubrication is important to prevent the part from drying out, corroding and wearing. The grease used in Sidem parts is coengineered with Klüber Lubrication and assures a much longer life time due to a smoother movement and protection against water infiltration. Sidem always engineers its parts with in mind the longest possible lifespan, maximum safety, comfort and an easy installation.

Re-engineered Technology.

Sidem’s success is built on 90+ years of expertise in engineering and manufacturing of steering and suspension parts. When it comes to the aftermarket, we start from the OE part as the reference point. Based on our experience, we look if we can make the part better performing for a longer lifespan, more safety, higher comfort or an easier installation. If a part is improved compared to OE, it is called ‘Sidem Re-engineered Technology’.
